HISTORY

Colombiere Center opened as a Jesuit training facility in 1959. It is named for Claude de la Colombiere, a Jesuit teacher, orator, and spiritual director who lived in France from 1641 to 1682 and was canonized May 31, 1992.

In the early 1990's, the use of Colombiere Center as a Jesuit training facility was discontinued. The Center now focuses on healthcare for retired Jesuit priests and brothers.

The Colombiere Conference and Retreat Center is also in operation on our grounds, as well as a substance abuse treatment facility, Insight, that has been onsite since 1978.
